The following organizations are supported by the Women's Club throughout the year. Several times a year we pack gift bags of candies, toiletries, and various gifts for those people served by these organizations.
The Good Samaritan Free Clinic
The Good Samaritan Clinic provides free medical and dental healthcare to the uninsured of West Volusia County. The clinic consists solely of volunteer medical and dental providers, nurses, pharmacist, and support personnel. There is no cost for treatment, medication or counseling. At the Good Samaritan Clinic, nobody pays and nobody gets paid. 136 E. Plymouth Avenue, DeLand, Phone (386) 738-6990, Fax (386) 738-6985, Website https://www.gsdld.org
Family Renew Community
Family Renew Community brings together religious congregations, businesses, civic and charitable organizations and individuals committed to solving homelessness in Volusia County. The program provides housing and helps homeless parents on a path toward supporting their families in places of their own. They give a hand up not a hand out. They have four one-bedroom and three two-bedroom apartments for two-parent and single-parent families with children. Volunteers are needed to help residents tend a garden to supplement food budget and to mentor families to care for boxed herbs and flowers. Donations of gift cards to local grocery stores are needed, as are donations of household items to ensure each apartment is fully furnished. 259 W. Voorhis Avenue, DeLand, Phone (386) 736-0500, Fax (386) 736-8128, Website http://www.familyrenew.org
Rose Manor is a home-based assisted living facility. Volunteers are needed to visit residents. Candy is much appreciated by residents. Toiletry items (shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotion, etc).
